To support faculty in reducing textbooks costs for students, the Library and its staff will:
- purchase books that you want to use less than 50% of
- check to see if an unlimited ebook license can be purchased
- offer Bowdoin Digital Delivery to facilitate posting readings to Canvas
- offer a fancy scanner to help you or your ADC scan readings easily and efficiently
- order a book for the collection that you think you might want to assign, and hold it for you to check out first
- help you interlibrary loan books you might want to assign, so you can review them
- help you determine whether your chosen reading is in the public domain
- help find alternative readings
- assist in searching for and vetting Open Educational Resources (OER)
- help you decide how much of a book or reading to post to Canvas (copyright law, Fair Use)
