Search the JSTOR database to find scholarly journal articles from the 1800s-2008ish, with some access to more current articles. JSTOR is an interdisciplinary database, so you may find useful articles that are not covered by the MLA Bibliography.
Project Muse
Search the Project Muse database to find scholarly journal articles from about 1995-present. Project Muse is also an interdisciplinary database, and includes the recent issues of many of the JSTOR journals.
