Database of "classical music" in wide variety of genres from major and independent labels.

Database of Recorded American Music (DRAM)
Database of recordings and liner notes and essays from New World, Composers Recordings (formerly Composers Recordings) and other labels; primarily music by 20th and 21st century composers. 

How to Find Sound Recordings

The online sound recording databases only permit audio streaming.  Due to copyright restrictions most recordings are not downloadable.  However, many of recordings found in the databases can be checked out from the Beckwith Music Library or borrowed from our partner libraries, Bates and Colby. 

Search for recordings at Bowdoin:

Search Compass by composer, performer or title.   Then choose "Audio" under "Facets."
