HathiTrust: Getting Started

Bowdoin College is a HathiTrust member. Log in to take full advantage of the features of membership, i.e., browse, search, read books online,^† download entire books,^† and create collections.

1. Click Log in.
2. Find your partner institution: Bowdoin College.
3. Click Continue.
4. Log in using your usual Bowdoin email credentials.

2. Choose HathiTrust.

Alternatively, anyone can use HathiTrust without logging in to browse; search; download entire books that lack download restrictions, otherwise download a single page at a time;^† or read books online.^†

^† Only books that are "full-view", except for those eligible for Accessible Text Request Service.

Access to volumes in HathiTrust is dependent on the country a user is accessing HathiTrust from. For more information.

To get started searching, enter your search term. Two common ways to search are in "Full Text & All Fields" (to search entire works and metadata) and in "All FIelds" (to search only bibliographic metadata such as Title, Author, Publication Date).
